And all along, this girl’s father, Johnny Smith of Conway, SC, has been fighting to get her out of foster care and back home. So it’s good to have a chance to write about journalism that elevates that profession – journalism that has just helped reunite a traumatized little girl with her father, Johnny Smith. That state’s Department of Social Services refused to approve the father as a placement for his own daughter - the daughter he’d raised from I’ve written a fair amount on this blog about shoddy journalism, the kind that drags down my former profession. Originally, the screw-ups were on the South Carolina end....
GRANTS - There are more than 50 children in Cibola County that are in the foster care program but not all of them have foster parents.

A: You could contact your local DSHS or CPS office. They could give you information on how they might need help. Are you looking to become a foster parent?? What kind of volunteering do you want to do?

A: Check out your nearest child welfare office! They can help you. One piece of advise most of these children have been through the mill. They have been through more in their short lives than most of us see in a whole lifetime. Most come from broken homes
