Ethical Lines Being Drawn in Cloning Debate | Catholic Exchange
by Mark Armstrong
Some scientists are advocating destruction of our most vulnerable with “promises” of miraculous cures for the rest of us. From researchers who use destroy human embryos in an attempt to find cures for all that ails us, to perhaps one day fetal... “They believe we should discard the value of each human life and instead view the animal as having greater value. In fact, ironically there is a growing sentiment in the country that more dignity should be given to animals than humans when it comes to medical research. “There are large groups of people in this country who care more about animals than they do people,” said Smith. Human life is under assault like never before in our history. The Discovery Institute played host to a discussion of what it means to be human as a prelude to the 79th annual educational conference now underway in Seattle for the Catholic Medical Association....

What do u think about cloning????
(I have to write an essay about it for science)
A: wow i just learned about this.
ok so they use cloning because they need to clone a good gene and to put it in someones body to correct their DNA if they have a bad gene or dont have the specific gene, its called gene therapy.

i can see how we can benefit from cloning but, i was wondering how would we know if human+human-clone offspring will have defects that will affect them farther down the line. Like if i have a kid with a clone. and then after my kids have kids they go
A: I don't think scientists are thinking along the line as to the possibility that you'd mate with a clone...or want to, for that matter. Do you even know how far away we are from completely cloning a human being? I highly doubt that there will be enough
cloning....?

A: If you have a university or college nearby, try calling the Biology Department and requesting an interview---or email correspondence.
