Did PETA Facilitate Adoption of Abandoned Dog in Japan for ...

As far as I know, Ashley was the only PETA employee on the ground in Japan trying to rescue animals. So why would PETA allow its employee to embark on a 23 hour journey to take a dog to her parents in Canada instead of staying in Japan where animal rescue groups are clamoring for help. The Vancouver Sun reported today that a couple in Surrey, British Columbia adopted a dog abandoned after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Someone had to alert the media and let them know about the adoption. PETA saw a chance to get some major publicity, so it decided that was more important than having their staff person stay in Japan and rescue more animals. what is with all the japanese adoption inquiries today?

is there an anime marathon on cartoon network or something? did the history channel air a documentary on hiroshima and nagasaki?

i'm just asking.

A: I blame animé. *nods*

How do you say "adoption" in Japanese?

Adoption as in adopting a dog, not a child. I'm trying to say this in Japanese: The dog is available for adoption.

A: The dog is available for adoption= Inu wa saitaku notameni tegaakimasu.
犬は採択のために手が空きます。

Computer, I learned that aiken is "pet dog" not "loving dog."

There are many Japanese words for adoption. Which one should I use to say my child is adopted?

We live in Japan, and our child was adopted from Japan. We are white, so Japanese people always wonder what we are doing with a Japanese child.

A: Isamu's answer is correct. If you want to know how to say "to adopt (a child)," it is(子供を)養子にする ((kodomo wo) youshi ni suru).
