This week Families First honors all mothers, particularly Foster and Adoptive Mothers, for their tireless commitment to creating safe and nurturing environments for ALL children. As exemplified and shared by this mother, motherhood is not only embodied in the person who gives birth to a child but also in pthe person who supports that child in giving birth to their dreams. Every day at Families First, I witness with awe and amazement how lives can be transformed, families are strengthened, and children are nurtured and empowered as a result of a “mother’s love”. The gift of motherhood and the opportunity to nurture and love a child, and to be loved by a child, is an enduring, priceless present.
