Adoption home study? What to expect? What was your experience?

I have been on board w/ adoption even since I could remember, however, to my husband this is all new. He has many questions about EVERYTHING, as do I. He is very concerned about letting a "stranger" "pry" and evaluate his life. But




A: There's nothing to a home study. We tried to clean-up a little around the house, but that's not really what they're looking for. The just want to know the home is safe, there is a bedroom for the child and fire alarms etc.

A: That depends what state you are in and if you want a homestudy done for a domestic or international adoption. Fees can vary from $500 to $2000 depending on these factors. Call a few social workers your lawyer can recommend and ask what they charge.
