We already have the child, we can support her fine...it is just the $25,000 loan hanging over our heads that is troubling.
We do go to a small church, and they paid for all of our travel expenses.
A: Do you go to church? YOu could ask your Sunday School class to sponsor a bake sale for you.
I'm pretty sure there are organizations that will give you monetary support for the adoption as well as future care of the child if you are willing

A: The short answer is: yes. The longer answer is: if someone gives you a gift of money, it is not taxable. If you have a garage sale, technically it's taxable, but since most things are sold below their value, there's no net gain or profit to be taxed.

I completely understand your concerns with finances of adoption. There are options out there for you though to provide a loving home to a child without high agency fees. Have you considered foster/adoption?
